Autumn Leaf Appliqué class taught by Anne.
Learn a new technique [not reverse appliqué!] to appliqué autumn leaves with tiny veins. Leaves can be used to enhance pieced quilt blocks or combined for appliqué projects such as table runners. Works for pumpkins as well. Some appliqué experience is required.
Required for class:
- Fat quarters of autumnal colors;
- matching thread.
- Size 11 Straw needles;
- serrated scissors
Skill level: some applique experience
Instructor will provide pattern.
Leaf fabric - fat quarters in green, brown, red, gold or yellow.
Vein fabric - fat quarter of any fabric that contrasts with your vein fabrics. (Yellow or brown for green, red for brown, etc.)
Thread that matches your leaf fabrics.
12" square of freezer paper
Ultra-fine black sharpie or pencil for marking freezer paper
Removable marker that can be seen on your leaf fabric (chalk pencil or water soluble blue marker)
Applique needles of choice
Needle threader for fine needles
Fabric scissors; recommend embroidery or small bladed ones (7-8" shears are too big to work with!)
