What are Habitat houses like? Habitat houses are modestly-sized. They are large enough for the homeowner family's needs, but small enough to keep construction and maintenance costs to a minimum. • Affordable. The labor of volunteers and partner families, efficient building methods, modest house sizes and no-profit loans make it affordable for low-income families to purchase Habitat houses.

Quilt Lovers' Hangout is proud to announce that we will be participating in the Women's Build for Habitat for Humanity May 5th -12th 2012, Here in Lee County These builds take place all across the nation in the week leading up to Mothers Day.

Will you Donate a quilt? Do you have a lap or twin size quilt that needs a home? Quilt Lovers' Hangout is putting out a challenge to all our quilters. As a quilting community we would love to donate 200 quilts to the Habitat house's by the end of 2012. We need your help in doing this. What a better way to help others. We as quilters can wrap them in love with a quilt made just for them. Do you think if we work together we can do this? Sure we can! Quilter's have such big hearts and I know we can make this happen if we all work together. So Get Ready, Set, Go! The challenge is on. We will let you know who is the first to bring a quilt. Pictures of each quilt will be taken and posted on this site as they come in. We can only accept FINISHED quilts, no unfinished quilts can be excepted as we do not have the man power to quilt them.
